Own it!

Not long after I began my exploration of Bollywood, I discovered my liking for the music from the films. I asked Money if there was anyplace where one could get the soundtrack CDs from these movies, and we ventured off to get them. The selection at the small market we went to was very limited (I think they had five to choose from), and as such I made a couple of venture purchases. One of which was the soundtrack to this recap, "Khakee."

"Khakee" (pronounced just like the pants) refers to the color of police uniforms. This was one of the few films where I had heard all of the songs before I saw the movie, so I was eager to see what sort of visuals were to accompany them. I liked the soundtrack a lot, and as luck would have it the movie turned out to be pretty good too. Let's see who we have with us this time.

First and foremost would be someone that I (and many many others) would call a legend of Bollywood - Amitabh Bachchan. This distinguished actor has been in the business for a very long time. He is also one of the stars of what many consider to be the best Bollywood movie of all time, "Sholay." He has a deep, booming voice and a very commanding screen presence. He's been good in every production I've seen him in, and this one is no exception.

This is also the first film for my site that features the lovely Aishwarya Rai. She was crowned Miss World 1994, and has had an illustrious modeling and film career. She is indeed stunning, and has a pair of the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. She's well represented here.

Ajay Devgan is also a first-timer for this site, despite being a fairly popular actor. I have many other films of his in the queue. He also has the honor of being the husband to the always enjoyable actress Kajol, who has been seen on my site in Dushman and Gupt.

Finally, and with no small amount of excitement, I am pleased to announce the return of Akshay Kumar! You will all recall him as Atul, The Toughest Man Alive from waaay back in Jaani Dushman. He is no less of a badass in this show either, so get ready for some astounding feats of strength and courage!

For this outing, we have on the roster:

DCP Anant Srivastav (Amitabh Bachchan) - A dedicated police officer, not too far from retirement.
Sub-Inspector Ashwin Gupte (Tusshar Kapoor) - A rookie cop that has a strong sense of duty and morals.
Head Constable Khamlesh Sawant - A family man who loves his son.
Senior Inspector Shekhar Varma (Akshay Kumar) - A devil-may-care playboy who fears nothing!
Constable Gajanan Mhatre - Doesn't take his job too seriously, but isn't a bad cop.
Dr. Iqbal Ansari (Atul Kulkarni) - Labeled a terrorist by the authorities, he is the subject of much attention from the police and a few other parties.
Mahalaxmi (Aishwarya Rai) - A teacher at a small school, ends up traveling with the police for her protection.
Yashwant Angre (Ajay Devgan) - The cold, calculating leader of a terrorist group, bent on preventing Ansari from reaching Mumbai.
Additional Commissioner Naidu - Anant's superior officer who gives him his mission.
Commissioner Deodhar - Naidu's father, and superior on the force. Nothing like a little nepotism to get things started!

This film has some really interesting character developments. I think you'll enjoy this one!
